Drivers will have more closures to navigate in London's Old East Village (OEV) Monday.
The intersections of Quebec and Dundas streets and Egerton and Dundas streets will be completely closed for the day as part of phase 2 of the bus rapid transit east London link construction. Crews will spend the day completing sewer work, according to city officials.
Both intersections are expected to be reopened by the end of the day.
All businesses in the area will stay accessible while the work is completed.
When the intersections reopen at the end of the day on Monday, the west limit of the project at Dundas Street will be closed to prevent cut-through traffic across the construction zone.
"This is to ensure everyone remains safe during construction. Drivers are asked to continue to exercise caution when accessing local destinations as construction crews are working in close proximity," the city said in a statement. "These barriers will be removed each week at the end of day Friday to support local access to OEV destinations from the west during the weekend. Barriers will return at the start of each week on Monday as work continues in the area."
Detour signs are in place. Drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes if possible.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on at least one side of the street throughout the construction.
