One person seriously hurt in Simcoe stabbing

Provincial police are searching for three suspects after a knife attack left one person fighting for life in Simcoe.

Norfolk OPP were called about an altercation at an address on Queen Street North around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived they found a person with serious injuries. That individual was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Three people reportedly ran from the area before police arrived. As of Wednesday afternoon, they had not been located, police said.

Investigators believe the trio and injured person may know each other, as such they do not believe there is a threat to public safety.

Officers with the OPP canine unit, emergency response team, crime unit, and forensic identification services have all joined the investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
