Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) construction will be causing more slowdowns in east London until the fall.
As of Monday, Dundas Street between Quebec and Egerton streets will be down to one lane in each direction as phase 2 of the East London Link begins.
Crews will be adding new signals and pedestrian crossings, making private utility repairs and upgrades, and replacing and repairing asphalt and sidewalks.
Businesses will be open throughout the construction and signage is in place to help guide pedestrians to their destinations.
The work isn't expected to be completed until the fall, according to city officials.
The lane restrictions are in addition to others nearby on Dundas at Ontario Street, Ontario Street between Dundas and King streets, and King Street between Lyle and Ontario streets.
The east London link will revitalize more than 6 km of road from the downtown to Fanshawe College, the city said. It will see the creation of dedicated public transit lanes and the repairing and replacing of aging sewers, watermains and other underground infrastructure.
