Things to do in London over Easter weekend

As London gears up for the long weekend, here's a list of what's open and closed for Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Most retailers will close to observe the holidays, however, there are some exceptions. For London, White Oaks Mall, CF Masonville Place, Cherry Hill Village Mall, and Westmount Shopping Centre will shut down on Friday and Sunday. Costco, LCBO, the Beer Store, and the Labatt Brewery are also closing their doors, along with most banks and grocery stores.

Some Shopper's Drug Mart and Rexall locations will remain open over the long weekend, however, the public is advised to contact the store to confirm their hours before heading over.

Government offices are closed on both Friday and Monday, with regular hours to be resumed on Tuesday. Canada Post is adopting the same schedule.

Recycling and garbage will not be picked up on Friday or Monday. Those scheduled for collection on Friday will be serviced on Saturday, and Monday pick-ups will take place on Tuesday.

London Transit Commission vehicles will operate on a holiday schedule for Good Friday.

Public library branches will be closed on Friday, Sunday, and Monday.

If you're looking to soak up the warm weather and sunshine expected to come this weekend, London has you covered with a number of festive events.

If you're looking for a family-friendly activity, Storybook Gardens is holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt from Friday to Sunday. Admission is $5 for children under 17 and free to adults. Reservations must be made in advance.

Kustermans Berry Farms is holding a similar event from Friday to Sunday with lots of activities planned each day.

Other Easter festivities include Saturday's egg hunts at Pinafore Park in St. Thomas and the German Canadian Club. The Easter Bunny is also expected to pay a visit to the Covent Garden Market Saturday morning.

London National Service Dogs is holding an egg hunt for dogs on Friday, so the furry friends of Londoners can be included in the Easter fun.

A few locations are hosting a special Easter Brunch over the weekend, including Boler Mountain on Sunday and the Rec Room on Friday.

The Easter Palooza slo-pitch tournament kicks off at BMO Centre Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Mustang Drive-In recently opened for the season, and they are showing movies every night from Thursday until Sunday. On Saturday and Sunday night, the theatre will also hold an Easter egg hunt after the concession opens.
