Anniversary of Oneida man's murder marked with renewed call for tips

Provincial police are once again appealing to the public for information surrounding the murder of Oneida Nation of the Thames business owner Bradley Shane Chrisjohn.

It was two years ago this week on April 4, 2021, that the 45-year-old was found dead at a home on Duff Line in Dutton-Dunwich. Officers responding to a report about a sudden death found Chrisjohn's body around 4 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person, who was not identified, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Chrisjohn's death was ruled a homicide a day after the grim discovery and a year later a dedicated tip line for information in the unsolved crime was launched by police.

Chrisjohn, a husband and father of eight, was well known in the community as he operated the Ambrose Gas Bar and Little Arrows Gas Bar on Oneida First Nation.

On Thursday, investigators probing his death renewed a call to the public for tips.

"The death remains under investigation by the Elgin County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario," police said in a statement.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
