London man assaulted, hit with BB gun

A London man was hit with a BB gun and assaulted after confronting two teens who were allegedly trying to damage his home.

The incident began when the man heard something hitting the windows of his Admiral Drive home around 9:10 p.m. on Saturday. The man stepped outside, found a number of BB pellets, and heard people running away.

He then used his vehicle to track down the suspects. But upon finding them and getting out of his vehicle, the man was surrounded by several people, assaulted, and struck with a BB gun, London police said in a statement issued Tuesday.

The man suffered minor injuries in the attack.

He provided police with a description and officers with the emergency response unit went to a nearby home where two suspects were arrested.

An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, both of whom were known to the victim, have been charged with assault with a weapon. The name of the 17-year-old cannot be released due to his age and the name of the 18-year-old won't be disclosed because it could identify the younger teen, police said.

Both are scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charge in May.
