Tire-slashing suspect sought in St. Thomas

St. Thomas police are searching for a man who allegedly damaged a vehicle and home before threatening the owner.

The incident began when a man was seen slashing the tires of a truck parked outside of a south-end home around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The man proceeded to break the exterior mirrors off the vehicle before the owner came outside to confront him.

The man, who was not known to the owner, reportedly began threatening physical harm. He then damaged the front door of the home.

Police were called, but were unable to locate a suspect.

A description of the man has not been provided.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
