Ex-London cop charged with more sexual assault offences

A former London police officer already charged with multiple sexual assault and criminal harassment offences is facing additional charges in relation to the attack on a woman last summer.

According to London police, a woman met and began chatting with a man through an online dating app in June 2022. The pair agreed to meet in person on June 30.

"Upon meeting the man, the female entered his vehicle. The victim was unable to exit the vehicle of the suspect male and was sexually assaulted," police said in a statement Thursday.

The woman was not physically hurt.

The attack was reported to police on Tuesday, prompting an investigation.

Stephen David Williams, 46, of London, has since been charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.

The charges are in addition to a dozen sexual assault and criminal harassment charges laid against him late last year in relation to incidents involving several women that date back to May 2021.

Williams resigned from the London Police Service in the fall of 2021 after spending four years suspended with pay. His resignation came shortly before a professional misconduct hearing was set to begin.

In December, police issued a public safety alert about Williams. A photo of him was also released to the public at the time. The warning about the 46-year-old was repeated by police on Thursday.

"The accused is known to meet women through online dating platforms and other social media applications," police said. They listed the following names as aliases he is known to use on those sites:

Will Stevenson Will Stephens Will S. Will Where there is a Will there is a way Will Si

Williams is described as White, approximately 6’1”, 230 lbs, with blue eyes, a muscular build, shaved head and possibly a full brown beard.

The public is advised not to approach or engage with Williams and anyone with concerns for public safety is told to call 911 immediately.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and ask anyone with additional information to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Williams is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the latest charges on Thursday.
