Wellington Street lane restrictions expected to slow traffic

Londoners can expect significant traffic delays on Wellington Street as crews install temporary traffic signals and streetlighting along the roadway.

Starting on Tuesday, there will be periodic lane restrictions on Wellington Street between Grey Street and Queens Avenue, both northbound and southbound. Signs will be installed to help guide vehicles through the area.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes if possible to avoid traffic delays.

Pedestrians will still be able to pass through the area, but can expect sporadic sidewalk restrictions.

Transit riders are advised to visit the LTC website for service updates.

The temporary traffic signals and streetlighting are being installed in preparation for Phase 3 of the Downtown Loop and Phase 1 of the Wellington Gateway projects, according to the City of London. These projects are scheduled to begin construction in March 2023.
