Woman arrested after she allegedly tried to set house ablaze

London police arrested a woman accused of attempting to set a fire in the city's east end over the weekend.

According to investigators, the suspect was seen outside of a home on Margaret Street east of Egerton at around 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses told police the woman was trying to start a fire and was making threats to damage property.

The woman was reported to police and she was located and arrested at around 10:40 a.m. During a search of the suspect, officers obtained incendiary material, bear spray, and a replica firearm.

No property was damaged during the incident.

The 54-year-old London woman is charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, uttering threats of death or bodily harm, possession of incendiary material and possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon or device.

The woman was taken into police custody to await a court appearance on Monday.
