Officers are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a building on Deshkan Ziibiing, also known as Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.
On Thursday morning, Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were sent to a motor vehicle collision outside of Antler River Seniors Centre, located at 20723 Muncey Road. Provincial officers were joined on the scene by authorities from Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police service and the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Fire Department.
According to police, a vehicle entered the parking lot of the seniors complex before driving into the building itself.
Shadia Ali, communications officer for Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, confirmed that there were no injuries.
"Police were called to the scene due to the damage. Paramedics were there as a precaution and to make sure everyone was safe. No one was hurt, though there is some damage to the building itself which engineers are currently assessing," she wrote in a statement to London News Today.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
