Investigators with the Ontario Fire Marshal's office are joining the investigation into an east London mobile home fire that claimed the life of a woman.
Firefighters were called when fire broke out at the home at 2189 Dundas Street, west of Veterans Memorial Parkway just before 5 p.m. on Monday. Shortly before crews arrived they were told a person may be trapped inside the structure.
Upon arrival, there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters searched the home and quickly found a woman inside with life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The woman's name and age have not been released.
Damage is pegged at $150,000, the London Fire Department said.
An investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshal's office is expected to arrive Tuesday morning to assist local fire officials and London police in determining the cause of the blaze.
"The investigation is in its early stages and more information will be provided as it becomes available," police said Tuesday.

This is the third fatal fire in the London-area in the past three weeks. A woman was killed in a late-afternoon apartment fire at 17 Mitchell Street in St. Thomas on January 26. Three days later on January 29, a woman pulled from a house fire at 238 Tremont Rd. in London died from her injuries. Both of those fires remain under investigation.
