The grim discovery of a missing woman has prompted a death investigation in Woodstock.
Woodstock police initiated a missing person alert Thursday in an attempt to locate 30-year-old Karen Cunningham, who had initially been reported missing.
In a statement Friday night, police said she was found deceased.
The area of Sixth Avenue and Mill Street in Woodstock was closed for several hours Friday but has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
