London man identified as pedestrian killed in downtown collision

A 56-year-old London man has been identified as the victim of a serious collision at Oxford Street East and Colborne Street on Saturday night.

In an update on Wednesday, with permission from the victim's family, London police shared that 56-year-old Kevin Mourant was the pedestrian who was killed in the crash.

The collision happened around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and Mourant was pronounced dead at the scene. Oxford Street East was closed for several hours between Maitland Street and Waterloo Street for the investigation.

Police said the involved driver remained at the scene of the accident.

No other injuries were reported.

"The London Police Service sends their condolences to the man’s family and friends," police included in their statement.
