London police have provided more details after a serious collision closed a busy intersection near the city's downtown Saturday night.
Emergency crews were called to a crash in the area of Colborne Street and Oxford Street East at about 8:30 p.m., according to London Police. They tweeted that Oxford Street East was closed between Maitland Street and Waterloo Street for the investigation.
The investigation was reassigned to members of the force’s traffic management unit.
On Sunday, police confirmed that a 56-year-old male pedestrian died at the scene of the accident. The victim's identity was not released.
The involved driver remained on scene, according to police.
