A man from Denfield is $1 million richer after winning the maximum payout from ENCORE, a $1 add-on lotto game.
Wesley Pickles matched all seven numbers in exact order to win in the LOTTO 6/49 draw on November 12, 2022. According to olg.ca, the odds of getting all seven digits correct in ENCORE is one in 10,000,000.
“I was stunned when I scanned my ticket using the ticket checker,” Pickles shared while picking up his winnings. “I told my wife first – she didn’t believe me.”
The 45-year-old plumber said he plays the lottery once a week. He picked up the winning ticket from Ilderton Food Market in Ilderton, which is just a few minutes southeast of Denfield.
Pickles plans to pay off his mortgage and cover some bills with his profits. “It feels good,” Pickles said.
