Group of 30 splits $1M lotto prize

Years of playing Lotto Max have paid off for a group of 30 people from London and Lambton County after they won $1 million.

The group won the maxmillions prize for a draw on March 18, said the OLG.

Group leader Maureen Delainey, 54, of London said they have been playing Lotto Max together for 15 years. Some of the group members met through work, while others who joined were family members or friends.

"We play every Friday," said Delainey in a statement. "I checked our ticket and to my surprise, it was a big winner!"

Split evenly, the $1 million prize amounts to about $33,000 per member.

Delainey said she plans to use a portion of her winnings to fix her car and set away for retirement.

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven on Commissioners Road in London.
