Charges laid after woman grabbed, teen propositioned

A 22-year-old London man is facing assault and sex-related charges after an incident in the northeast-end of the city last week that saw a woman grabbed and a teen propositioned.

According to London police, the first incident happened around 5:45 p.m. last Tuesday when a woman was walking along a trail on Grenfell Drive, east of Adelaide Street. A man on a bicycle struck up a conversation with the woman before grabbing her and then riding off.

Just over an hour later, a teenager in the same area was approached by a man who offered her money for sexual services.

Neither person was physically hurt.

Investigators believe the same man was responsible for both incidents.

On Friday, it was announced a man had been arrested in the case. He has since been charged with invitation to sexual touching, obtaining sexual services from a person under 18, and assault.

The man is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Monday.
