Police investigate report of possible firearm on city bus

London police are investigating a situation where an alleged firearm was potentially brought onto a bus in the city’s southwest end on Tuesday.

Shortly after 5 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call regarding a man who is said to have presented some type of firearm to the driver of a London Transit Commission (LTC) bus near the area of Wonderland Road South and Viscount Road.

When police arrived, the man was last seen entering Westmount Shopping Centre. Police say the area was immediately locked down while officers searched, which resulted in negative results. The area has since been cleared and the investigation is ongoing.

No injuries have been reported.

London police officials believe there is no immediate threat to public safety.
