One man has been arrested and another is being sought in a string of break-ins that left over half a dozen businesses and two homes with $17,050 worth of damages.
The break-ins started on June 24 and continued for two weeks, with the last reported on July 9, London police said on Tuesday. The two homes broke into are located on Richmond Street in the north end of the city, while the eight businesses are in the north, east, and west end, as well as downtown.
Approximately $11,010 worth of property and cash were reported stolen, police said.
Investigators determined all ten of the break-ins were committed by the same two men.
William Edward Dundas, 33, and Maxwell Douglas Westman, 27, both of London are charged with six counts of break and enter and theft, and break and enter with intent.
Westman, who was arrested and appeared in court on Monday, also faces an additional charge of break and enter and theft.
Police said they are continuing to search for Dundas. The charges against him were issued by way of warrant. Police have released a photo of Dundas in hopes the public will be able to assist in finding him.
