Pedestrian seriously hurt in Old South collision

London police are investigating a collision in Old South that sent a pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries.

The man was walking in the area of Wharncliffe Road and Elmwood Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday night. He was taken to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

Everyone involved in the collision remained on scene, police said.

A section of Wharncliffe Road was temporarily closed while police investigated.

The case has been reassigned to the police traffic management unit which will continue to look into the cause of the collision.
