Owner of London concrete company charged with fraud

St. Thomas police have charged the owner of a London concrete company after they allegedly took a deposit from a resident for a job that was never completed.

According to police, the St. Thomas client contacted law enforcement after alleging they were charged a $1,900 deposit for concrete work, but the company never showed up on the agreed-upon date.

The customer also told police the company delayed the start date of the job several times, before eventually ceasing communication with the client.

On Wednesday, St. Thomas officers confirmed the company owner was taken into custody and charged with fraud under $5,000.

Police released the accused with a future court date.
