Charges laid in fatal stabbing

A London man is now charged in connection with the city's first homicide of 2022.

London police announced on Tuesday afternoon that Gregory Cane, 38, is charged with one count of second degree murder in the death of Stephen Hutchinson, 66, of London. Hutchinson was rushed to hospital from a home on Springbank Drive on Monday morning after he was stabbed. He died of his injuries in hospital.

According to police, Cane and Hutchinson were "known to each other."

Cane has been remanded in custody and is to appear in court February 3, 2022.
