COVID-19 cases reported at a dozen Thames Valley schools

With Christmas quickly approaching and thousands of London-area children off for the winter break, the Middlesex-London Health Unit is still reporting positive COVID-19 cases.

On Thursday evening, the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) reported three cases apiece at Emily Carr Public School and Thamesford Public School. There were also two cases confirmed at Sir Arthur Currie Public School.

The board also reported solo infections at the following buildings.

  • Academy for Student-Athlete Development
  • Byron Somerset Public School
  • Clara Brenton Public School
  • J.S. Buchanan Public School
  • Montcalm Secondary School
  • Parkside Collegiate Institute
  • Stoney Creek Public School
  • West Oaks French Immersion Public School
  • Wilberforce Public School, where an outbreak was declared by the health unit
The school board said it has notified the school community of the positive cases once they were made aware by the health unit. Staff and students would have had in-person contact within the school setting last Friday, December 17.

Only staff and students who were identified as close contacts have been told to stay home and quarantine for ten days.

More details about all TVDSB cases can be found online.
