OPP identify deceased in Turkey Point Road fire

OPP in Norfolk County have identified a 38-year-old man as the individual who died in a house fire near Charlotteville late last week.

At around 8 p.m. on December 9, emergency crews responded to a fully engulfed home on Turkey Point Road Charlotteville Road 11. During the fire, one person and two family dogs made it out however, one person was not accounted for.

When crews were going through the destroyed home after the fire was put out, they found the body of the man identified by OPP on Monday as Jason Berg of Norfolk County.

An investigation by the OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services continues, while the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office has completed an investigation.

The cause of the fire has not been announced.
