A fourth public school in London has been placed into official outbreak status.
In the Thames Valley District School Board's (TVDSB) daily COVID-19 report released Tuesday evening, an outbreak was declared at Mountsfield Public School with a total of three active cases and another five other schools in the London-area detected new probable cases.
The cases are linked to Caradoc Public School in Mount Brydges, Emily Stowe Public School in Norwich, Lord Dorchester Public School in Dorchester, Sir Arthur Currie Public School in London, and Southridge Public School in Tillsonburg.
All schools are expected to remain open on Wednesday.
"Thames Valley wishes to assure the community that all staff, parents and guardians of the school communities were immediately notified," read a statement released by the school board Tuesday night.
The school board added all close contacts of an infected individual will be notified via a letter and the health units will then follow up with those individuals with further testing advice.
There are now four public schools across the city dealing with outbreaks. The other three schools are Riverside Public School, Tecumseh Public School, and White Oaks French Immersion Public School. The London Catholic District School Board also has four schools in outbreak status.
More details about the active cases can be found on the TVDSB website.
