Voyeurism suspect arrested

A London man is facing charges after police allege he peered into a woman's bedroom window.

Police were called to a home on Talbot Street near Central Avenue on Monday morning. According to police, a 26-year-old woman left the home around 6 a.m. to take her dog for a walk. That's when she spotted a man looking through her window.

"The woman ran towards the man in order to prevent him from fleeing, and screamed for help," police said. "Friends and neighbours of the woman exited nearby residences and assisted her in confronting the male. The suspect identified himself prior to fleeing from the area on foot."

Officers searched the area and arrested a suspect in the downtown core around 11 a.m.

A 71-year-old man is charged with voyeurism and trespassing at night. He was released from custody and is to appear in court in February.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident, or the man in the photo, is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
