Former Knight, NHLer compares vaccine passports to forced prostitution, then apologizes

Brandon Prust's Twitter account has had no shortage of criticism of COVID-19 restrictions since the start of the pandemic.

But on Wednesday, the former NHLer and London Knight found himself trending on the social media platform after an insulting reply to a woman who responded to one of his tweets.

When a woman pressed him on being opposed to vaccine passports, Prust replied "I hope they force u into the sex trade so u can finally get laid u sheep."

The tweet has since been deleted.

Prust started the debate by tweeting "I’m going to be on the road tomorrow driving. If I see anyone else on the road I will lose it. I don’t want anyone putting me at risk. Also everyone take their vitamins tomorrow because mine won’t work if u don’t take urs."

He tweeted an an apology on Wednesday afternoon.

Prust is from London and played with the Knights from 2002 through their Memorial Cup winning season in 2004-05.

He played in the NHL in parts of 11 seasons with Calgary, Phoenix, the New York Rangers, Montreal, and Vancouver.
