Provincial police are crediting an alert officer in Simcoe with removing two guns, two knives, and a quantity of illicit drugs from the streets.
The officer was on patrol just after midnight on Tuesday when they stopped to investigate a vehicle at an address on Evergreen Hill Road. A search of the vehicle turned up an unspecified amount of fentanyl and methamphetamine, weapons, and cash.
The driver and two passengers were arrested.
A 39-year-old Woodstock man, a 28-year-old Norfolk County woman, and a 41-year-old Brantford resident are charged with multiple offences including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and possession of break-in instruments and property of crime under $5,000.
The Woodstock man is additionally charged with driving without a licence and driving with cannabis readily available.
All three are scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges at a later date.
