AUDIO: Anova educator hopes for accountability following Mailloux draft pick

"How do we make right, when something has gone wrong?"

That's the question Dr. Annalise Trudell, Manager of Education, Training & Research at Anova is asking in the wake of the Montreal Canadiens drafting Logan Mailloux.

The London Knights defenseman asked NHL teams not to draft him last week, after he shared images of a woman performing sexual acts on him while playing in Sweden.

"That conversation has grown beyond Logan in a lot of ways, this is an opportunity for (the Canadiens) to actually live to some of the values that they've talked about before in terms of their players and their character and that being really important for them," Trudell said. "Let's start using actual language, let's start using the language connected to sexual violence but also connected to really healthy masculinity."

Trudell also suggested teams partner and donate to local rape crisis centres.

"There needs to be the heck of a lot of transparency. The Knights have said something will be offered to him in support. What will that be?"

Canadiens owner Geoff Molson released a statement about the draft pick on Wednesday, saying that "Logan's actions do not reflect the values of our organization and I apologize for the pain this selection has caused."
