Man charged after vehicle clocked doing 116 km/h on London street

London police found a 21-year-old man hiding between two vehicles after clocking him allegedly driving more than 115 km/h on a west-end street.

An officer spotted a vehicle travelling west on Commissioners Road near Topping Lane at a high rate of speed around 2 a.m. last Friday. The vehicle was doing 116 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone, police said.

The driver did not stop when the officer tried to pull the vehicle over. Instead, the driver kept going for a short distance before abandoning the vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

A suspect was arrested hiding between two parked cars.

"During the course of the arrest, the suspect resisted, and other officers attended to the area to assist," police said.

A 21-year-old London man is charged with resisting a peace officer, failure to stop for police, and street racing. He is scheduled to appear in London court on October 7.
