Three charged after downtown London convenience store robbery

Three men have been charged after a convenience store in London's downtown core was robbed.

Just before 6:30 a.m. on Monday, police were called to a store on Richmond near York Street.

A clerk was threatened with a hammer by three men, who left the store with cash and merchandise.

Nobody was hurt, but the clerk called London Police. Officers eventually tracked the suspects to a home on King Street, where they recovered cash, stolen merchandise, and small amounts of drugs.

Three men, two who are 31 and one who is 50, are all charged with one count of armed robbery, and one count of having face masked with intent.

One of the 31-year-old men is also charged with drug offenses, the other faces a charge of breach of probation.
