Convenience store robbery suspect tries to attack London police officers with knife

A man faces five charges after a convenience store robbery led to an alleged assault on two London police officers.

On Friday night, a man went into a store on Wellington Road near Baseline Road. A suspect showed the clerk a knife, and left the store with cash and merchandise.

A suspect was found by London police a short time later. Police say the man attempted to use the knife to fend off officers who were trying to apprehend him - but he was eventually arrested.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.

A 33-year-old London man faces five charges, including armed robbery, failure to comply with release order, resisting arrest, and two counts of assaulting police with a weapon.
