Provincial police in Norfolk County are appealing to the public for information after two Pride flags were cut down from separate properties in Delhi over the weekend.
At around 2:35 a.m. Sunday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say an unknown individual was captured on video surveillance cutting down a flag pole located on the property.
The suspect is described as a white male, with a slim build and dark hair. In the video, he was wearing glasses, along with a camouflage t-shirt with a different coloured or patterned pocket and light coloured shorts. He also had a neck gator that covered part of his face.
Just before 3 a.m. the same night, the OPP say two unknown males were captured on video surveillance at Delhi Secondary School on James Street, where a large pole with a Pride flag was also cut down.
The pair then ran down the south side of the school on Connaught Avenue, got into a vehicle parked by the football field, and fled northbound on Churchill Avenue.
Officers believe the same suspects are responsible for both incidents.
Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to call Norfolk OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
