Charges are expected to be laid after hundreds of people gathered for an anti-lockdown rally in Woodstock.
The gathering in violation of current pandemic restrictions took place Sunday afternoon at the city's Museum Square.
According to Woodstock police, approximately 300 people were in attendance.
Among those who were scheduled to speak at the rally were MP Derek Sloan and Henry Hildebrandt, the pastor of the defiant Church of God in Aylmer. Both men have previously been charged with failing to comply with a continued section 7.0.2 order under the Reopening Ontario Act.
"The Woodstock Police Service and Woodstock by-law officers were in the area to monitor the event and keep the peace," police said in a statement. "The investigation remains ongoing at this time with potential charges pending."
Current COVID-19 rules issued by the provincial government cap outdoor gatherings at five people with face masks and physical distancing required.
