Stretch of Highbury Ave. to close until Sunday

Motorists who use a stretch of Highbury Avenue in London will need to find a new route for the next few days.

The City of London says Highbury Avenue between Hamilton Road and Commissioners Road East will be shutdown from Thursday, May 27 until Sunday, May 30.

"This closure is to allow crews to pour concrete as part of the Highbury Avenue – Wenige Expressway Bridge Renewal project," the city said.

While the stretch of Highbury is closed, southbound traffic will be detoured east along Hamilton Road until it reaches Commissioners before heading west back to Highbury. Northbound traffic will be detoured east on Commissioners and then west on Hamilton Road.

The city says access to local business around the intersection of Hamilton Road and Highbury Avenue will be maintained for pedestrians and local vehicular traffic.
