With hot and humid weather in the forecast for Tuesday, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Sarnia-Lambton, Eastern Lambton County, London-Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford County, and Southern Huron County.
Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures reaching 31 degrees celsius Tuesday. Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to around 20 degrees with cooler temperatures expected on Wednesday.
This could pose a risk to anyone not used to the heat, however, seniors, infants and young children and people with chronic illnesses are particularly susceptible to heat-related illnesses.
It’s recommended individuals drink plenty of fluids and take frequent breaks from the heat.
