Drivers who take Wharncliffe Road South as part of their daily commute are being told to get ready for major slowdowns.
As of Monday, there will be lane restrictions along the main artery between Horton and Becher streets. Lanes will also be reduced on Stanley Street from Wharncliffe Road South to Perry Street.
The lane restrictions will remain in place for approximately three weeks as London Hydro relocates existing utilities underground in preparation for the Wharncliffe Road South Improvements project.
A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on Wharncliffe Road South and Stanley Street while the work is being completed.
Drivers are advised to give themselves extra time to get where they are going when travelling through the area.
Signage will be in place to help pedestrians with intermittent sidewalk closures and restrictions.
Access to residences and businesses in the area will be maintained throughout the construction.
