A London man faces numerous charges after he allegedly fled from police going 110 kilometres over the posted speed limit.
According to London police, a motorcyclist was seen driving with an obstructed licence plate on Sunray Avenue near Beech Drive Sunday morning around 9:15 a.m. The officer recognized the male and was aware that he was suspended from driving.
Police say the officer attempted to stop the driver, but he ran both a stop sign and a red light, and made no attempts to pull over.
The driver is accused of speeding up in an effort to flee from the officer and was clocked going upwards of 170 kilometres per hour in a posted 60 kilometre per hour zone, passing a second cruiser. Police did not pursue the driver.
Following an investigation, a 20-year-old is charged with dangerous operation, flight from a peace officer, stunt driving, driving while under suspension, and driving with a plate not plainly visible.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 19.
