UPDATE: No injuries following east end fire

Emergency crews in London's east end have gotten a fire at a scrap metal yard under control.

The blaze was reported around 2 p.m. Friday at 105 Clarke Road. Clarke Road at Gore Road had been closed to the public, but has since reopened. On social media, multiple residents reported seeing heavy smoke from areas across the city. Crews said much of the fire was in storage containers.

On social media, the London Fire Department said they believed the fire was started by recycled metals and electronics. Fire crews were able to put out the blaze and leave the scene around 6 p.m. No one was injured, and all potential run-off has been contained. At this time, damages are estimated to be around $30,000.
