Police investigating after 18-year-old shot

London police are investigating after a shooting left one person injured in the city’s east end.

Officers were called to Huron Street and Barker Street Wednesday evening after gunshots were heard in the area.

"Police received information that an 18-year-old male victim had attended the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries," police said. "The shooting is believed to have occurred north of a park in the 400-block of Barker Street, near Melsandra Avenue at approximately 5:40 p.m. Officers searched the area, as well as surrounding areas with negative results."

Police have not found a weapon and have not identified a suspect.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
