Two people charged at by knife-wielding woman

A 33-year-old Londoner is facing weapons charges after a woman allegedly ran toward two people downtown with a knife.

The pair were in the area of King and Talbot streets around 4 p.m. on Sunday when a woman pointed a knife at them. The woman proceeded to charge at them with the knife still pointed out, London police said.

The two people were not hurt and ran from the area.

A witness to the incident called police.

A woman was arrested about 15 minutes later in the area of Carling and Richmond streets. A folding knife was seized.

A 33-year-old London woman is charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.
