A loaded gun was seized and two Londoners were charged after a driver pulled up along side another vehicle and allegedly flashed a gun.
According to London police, a couple was heading south on Adelaide Street near Huron Street around 5:20 p.m. on Saturday when a white SUV pulled up beside them. The man driving the SUV is said to have shown the couple a gun before continuing on. A woman was reportedly in the passenger seat of the SUV at the time.
The couple provided a description of the vehicle to police, who were able to make an arrest in the downtown area shortly after. A search turned up a loaded P80 semi-automatic 9mm handgun, a prohibited magazine, ammunition, and a cellphone.
A 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both of London, are charged with more than half a dozen offences including possession of a loaded regulated firearm, careless storage of a firearm or ammunition, and occupying a vehicle with a firearm.
The 19-year-old also faces an additional charge of pointing a firearm.
Both are scheduled to appear in London court on Monday.
