Teen mugged, threatened with knife

One teenager has been charged and two more are being sought after a young person was assaulted during an armed mugging in the Oakridge area.

The young man was in the area of Oxford Street West east of Hyde Park Road when he was stopped by three other youths around 1:10 p.m. on Thursday. One of them pulled out a knife before the other two assaulted and robbed the young person, causing minor injuries.

London police were able to identify one of the suspects using video surveillance. A 16-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, was arrested without incident. He is charged with one count of armed robbery.

Police are still working to identify the other two suspects, one of whom is described as a Caucasian male with long hair pulled into a bun. The suspects were said to be in a white, 4-door sedan with a sunroof.

The victim did not know his attackers, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519- 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
