'Good boy' tracks down alleged thief following lengthy pursuit

A London police dog travelled over three kilometres through the snow early Friday, before tracking down an alleged thief.

Police were called to Dundas Street near First Street after a man was seen breaking into pickup truck in a parking lot at around 12:10 a.m.

Police say the suspect allegedly stole property from the truck before running from the scene.

A canine officer and Police Service Dog Koda tracked the man to the area of Quebec Street and Mornington Avenue where he was arrested without incident. The stolen property was recovered.

A 44-year-old London man was charged with theft under $5,000.
