Woman accused of stabbing loss prevention officer

A London woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole from a Hyde Park store and stabbed the man who tried to stop her.

According to London police, around 1 p.m. Tuesday woman was spotted at a store at 1280 Fanshawe Park Road West, concealing items inside a bag. When she tried to leave the store without paying, a loss prevention officer approached her. It's alleged the woman pulled out a knife and stabbed the man before taking off.

Police were called and, after a search involving a Police Service Dog, a suspect was arrested in the area of Blackacres Boulevard.

The loss prevention officer was taken to hospital with what police called "minor injuries."

A 29-year-old woman is charged with armed robbery.
