London police had some difficulty arresting a man who had caused a ruckus in the downtown area over the weekend.
Officers were called to an address on York Street Saturday morning following complaints of a man who had been yelling outside the establishment for several hours.
According to police, the man refused to move on from the area when asked by staff. The suspect also entered the property without permission, and when he went back outside again, he began to repeatedly kick the windows of the building.
When police arrived and asked the suspect to leave, he allegedly threw a cigarette in the direction of one of the officers. According to police, the man proceeded to put up a fight when police told him he was under arrest. He allegedly pushed one of the officers and attempted to grab the firearm from the officer's belt. Police say he also tried to grab equipment from the other officer when they came to assist with the arrest. Eventually, the man was apprehended.
A 29-year-old man from London is charged with attempting to disarm an officer, resisting arrest, assault with intent to resist arrest, and failure to leave the premises when directed.
