Several people are facing charges under the Reopening Ontario Act after London police broke up a party that had more guests than allowed.
Around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, police were called to a noise complaint at a home on King Street near Lyle Street. When they arrived, they saw 10 people inside, none of whom appeared to be wearing masks.
Under the Red-Control level of the province's COVID-19 Response Framework, the maximum number of people allowed inside at a social gathering is five.
"These gathering limits are in place for the health and well-being of everyone, and we will not hesitate to take appropriate action when our community is put at risk," police said in a news release issued Friday.
Police say a a 25-year-old man, a 23-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, and a 21-year-old woman, all of London, are charged with hosting an indoor gathering which exceeded number permitted and participating in an indoor gathering which exceeded number permitted.

All are to appear in court in March.
