Many families, including one of a new father, are in mourning this weekend following a partial building collapse that occurred in south London on Friday.
Henry Harder was one of the construction workers inside of a mid-rise apartment building that was being worked on before a section of one of the upper floors crumbled away killing him, one other worker, and seriously injuring four others.
Harder leaves behind his wife, and a newborn baby that he and his family welcomed just three weeks ago. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by a friend, and in less than 24 hours, the donations have well surpassed the initial $25,000 goal put in place.
Meanwhile, the tragic recovery mission for the other missing worker may be delayed as the remaining parts of the building are not stable enough for crews to search through without heavy equipment. The circumstances surrounding why the building collapsed are still under investigation.
Wonderland Road South between Commissioners Road West and Springbank Drive remains closed as of Saturday evening. Additionally, London police have closed Rosecliffe Terrace at Quinella Drive, Berkshire Drive is also closed at Topping Lane while the investigation continues at the site of 555 Teeple Terrace.
