Londoners will want to avoid a section of Adelaide Street North over the weekend as CP Rail goes ahead with planned construction.
Adelaide Street North between Central Avenue and Pall Mall Street will be closed to motorists and pedestrians from 6 a.m. on Saturday until approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday.
The closure is to allow for track realignment ahead of construction in 2021/ 2022 on the Adelaide Street underpass. The City plans to enhance traffic flow and improve safety with multi-use paths from Central Avenue to McMahen Street.
During construction, signed detour routes will be in effect.
Those going northbound will be diverted onto King Street, then Ontario Street, Dundas Street, Highbury Avenue North, and Oxford Street East. Southbound commuters can go onto Oxford Street East and then Highbury Avenue North, Dundas Street, Quebec Street, and Queens Avenue.
Residents who have an appointment booked at the Carling Heights COVID-19 Assessment Centre, are encouraged to allow for extra travel time.
